In Search of Home!

For the past year I have been researching and looking for a trailer to call home. Watching Ebay and Tin Can Tourists daily to see what was available and what I would be able to afford. I could not make up my mind between a roughly 15 ft. model and a larger 24 model. The lighter weight of the light trailer would make traveling much easier, but most likely would not be able to hold all of the various things that I wanted to be able to travel with.

Basically I wanted a vintage travel trailer with wooden cabinetry that I could take around the country to sell my handmade jewelry and orgonite sculptures. I am a long distance healer, so really I can be anywhere and do the work that I do.

About a month ago an add came up on Tin Can Tourists for a 15 ft. trailer. A 1965 “no name” but Shasta like trailer. The wood cabinets
in it were rough, but really in my eyes, perfect. It had the “feel” of and old Indian interior, which happens to really resonate with my sense of style and beauty. It was $898.00 which was lower than the ones that I had watched sell on ebay (most being in the $1500 to $3000 range) for at least a basic trailer with a solid body and floor.
This one had all of that, plus nice cabinetry and a closet bathroom
(was told only a toilet). So I called the guy who was selling it in Mass. I offered him a thousand for it as I knew it would “seal the deal” quickly and it did!

Here are some photos of her and after she arrived, I named her “Darling” because that is what she is.

..

Once I purchased “Darling”, I could not stop looking at trailers and still followed what was currently available. And then on Ebay, a 1969 Avion showed up that was for sale in my area. I have always loved vintage Avions, even more than airstreams. The back fin designs being so elegantly made and the interiors more quirky and artistic!
This one had good bones, nice cabinetry and was basically all still intact. It was filthy dirty, but I could see past all that. I ended up bidding on it, even though I really did not know where the money would come from. But I decided to ask for donations from my current
clients and received all the money in a week to successfully buy this one too!

Here are the photos of “Abode”...

I am thrilled with my new Abode too! Getting ready to lay
the new flooring and have just finished recovering the front
banquet seating.

I also am equipped with an awning and open canopy tent for outdoor living and cooking. Have my rocket stove coming this week and will be ordering a beautiful hardwood compost toilet. One more solar
panel to hook up to my marine battery and really I am set to be off the grid and living in nature!

I will be looking for an arrangement with someone who has some property that I can trade doing animal and property care in exchange for a location to park my new homes!
